Personal Safety For Traveling And Shopping During The Holiday Season.
The holidays are a busy time, and people are on the move traveling to parties and dinners or out and about shopping and getting last-minute items. Unfortunately, criminals are also aware of how distracted you may be, which can make you a target.
To help protect your safety whenever you travel, consider the following tips:
• Parking spaces – park close to buildings and ensure the vehicle is locked before you leave. Any purchase should be stored in the trunk out of sight.
• Protect your credit cards and cash – keep your credit cards and cash in an interior pocket or in a purse or bag that is kept close to your body.
• Take only what you need – empty your wallet of all but the necessary credit cards and identification. Write down all credit card information and contact numbers and keep them in a safe place in the event the cards are lost or stolen.
Take time to plan your trip, and if bad weather is an issue, consider postponing or leave yourself enough time to drive at a safe speed for the road conditions.
