Getting your business in order with springtime security tips.
Each season provides potential risks for any business or property. While springtime security may not be the most talked-about issue in your workplace, it can be costly if overlooked.
To check on the security of your business, here are a few spring tasks to add to your to-do list:
- Check alarm systems – make sure all fire detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, or other specific safety devices, systems, and detectors are in working order. This also includes your alarm system and any motion detector security lighting on the property.
- Consider your landscaping choices – everyone wants a beautiful yard, but some landscaping choices can create security issues. Avoid blocking security cameras and monitors with trees or shrubs, and avoid planting greenery near windows or doors that can serve as a place to hide. Keep in mind, blocking the windows also makes it easier for a thief to gain entrance without being seen.
- Fire extinguishers – spring is the perfect time to make sure your fire extinguisher is not out of date. If they are, it is time to replace them with a new model.
- Finally, make sure you have an emergency first aid kit, and it is easy to access in the event of an emergency situation.
