Leadership that Makes a Difference
Denise Nicholson
CEO
Denise Nicholson, the co-founder and CEO of Pro Security Group, has more than nine years of experience in the security industry. Nicholson began her career in the security industry in 1998 when she worked for a security company as their bookkeeper. She quickly worked her way up to office manager, taking over the tasks of scheduling and handling employee and customer relations. Nicholson found that she liked the security industry and the challenge of providing comprehensive security for varying types of organizations. So when long-time friend Jason Kuykendall approached her in 2002 to start a security business, she quickly said yes. Soon after, Pro Security Group was created, and Nicholson has watched it grow throughout the past years into the full-service security company it is today.
As the CEO of Pro Security Group, Nicholson spends the majority of her time creating solutions and solving problems for Pro Security Group’s clients and employees. She handles everything from scheduling to servicing current accounts to employee relations.
Nicholson is an active member of the Texas Burglar and Fire Alarm Association, Texas Crime Prevention Association, Associated Security Services and Investigation Services of Texas, Heart of Texas Minority Business Alliance, National Apartment Association, Toastmasters, ASIS International and the Central Texas Procurement Conference. In 2004, Texas Congressman Chet Edwards honored Nicholson with the Outstanding Entrepreneur award. The Waco Small Business Development Center also nominated Nicholson for the Small Businessperson of the Year award in 2006.
Originally from Boerne, Texas, Nicholson now lives in Waco, Texas, with her husband, Brian, and their son, James. In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her family.
